Should I pack a layer even for a warm Los Angeles day?

A removable light layer makes it easier to adjust between daytime and evening plans or coastal and inland stops. The tourism board’s 2019 guide suggests light layers and a jacket, but it is not a forecast for your trip. Choose warmth using the season and forecasts for your actual stops.

What belongs in a small bag for a long sightseeing day?

Group sun protection, room for a removed layer, a charging cable and required booking details. Add swim gear only on water-activity days rather than carrying it on every city outing. Adjust the bag’s weight to your walking distance and transport plans.
