Privacy policy and disclaimer
The Travel Cards editorial team (“we”) handles personal information as described below.
1. Information we collect
- Your email address when you sign up or sign in as a member
- Content members submit, such as travel-card text and photos
- Member actions such as likes
- Information sent automatically when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, referrer and time of access
- Your email address and message when you contact us
2. How we use it
- To provide member features, such as sending sign-in links
- To review and publish submissions and prevent abuse
- To reply to enquiries
- To operate the site securely, fix problems and understand how it is used
- To serve advertising and measure its performance
3. Data stored in your browser
Favorites and packing checks are stored only in your browser (local storage) and are not sent to our servers. Cookies keep you signed in.
4. Service providers
We use the following providers. Information they receive is handled under their own privacy policies.
- Cloudflare (site delivery, security, Turnstile bot protection, processing of uploaded photos, Web Analytics and forwarding of contact emails)
- Supabase (member authentication, database and photo storage; our project’s database and storage use the Tokyo region)
- Resend (delivery of authentication and sign-in emails, processing recipient email addresses and message content)
5. Advertising
We may use third-party advertising services such as Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com), or opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies at www.aboutads.info.

6. Affiliate links
We may take part in affiliate programmes. Purchases made through such links are transactions with the merchant; we do not receive purchasers’ personal information.
7. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page views, referrers and page performance. This analytics service does not use cookies or local storage and does not track individual visitors over time. It is separate from the cookies that keep you signed in. 8. Disclosure to third parties
We entrust the providers listed in section 4 with processing information necessary to deliver the service. Otherwise, we do not share personal information with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.
9. Access, correction and deletion
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, contact contact@travelpackinglist.net. We will respond within a reasonable time after verifying your identity.
10. Disclaimer
- We check official sources when writing, but cannot guarantee that information is accurate or current. Always confirm entry rules, fares, opening hours and venue rules with official sources before travelling.
- We are not liable for any loss arising from use of the information on this site.
- We are not responsible for the content of external websites linked from this site.
